All foreign delegates are welcome to sign up for our guided tours to explore Taipei! Choose from these four amazing tours that will introduce you to the nature and culture of northern Taiwan.

1. Tour of Ruifang Animal Shelter: The tour will take you to the newly built public shelter in Ruifang, New Taipei City with an option to continue to Jiufen or return to your hotel after the tour.
2. Guandu Bird Watching Tour: Enjoy a birdwatching afternoon in the Guandu Nature Reserve where professional guides will introduce you to our local biodiversity.
3. Qingtiangang Hike and Buffalo Watching: Hike through the grasslands of Qingtiangang in Yangmingshan National Park and observe wild buffalo in their natural habitat.
4. Ever Rich Pineapple Cake DIY and Duty Free Shopping: Learn how to make Taiwan’s iconic pineapple cakes in a hands-on baking class at Everrich Duty-Free, followed by a shopping experience at Taiwan's largest Duty Free Travel Retailer!

The Ruifang Animal Shelter is one of eight public shelters in New Taipei City. In 2024, the shelter completed a comprehensive reconstruction, a project that spanned five years and overcame numerous challenges. From initial concept through design and construction, the Taiwan SPCA collaborated closely with Heather Lewis from Animal Arts to provide professional guidance to local architects and the New Taipei City government. The new design prioritizes enhanced animal welfare, with the goals of boosting adoption rates and fostering greater volunteer involvement.

The Guandu Nature Reserve is one of Taiwan’s crucial wetlands, providing a rich ecosystem that serves as a key habitat and migratory stopover for numerous bird species. Every year, hundreds of birds gather here, making it an ideal spot for birdwatching and nature exploration. You’ll learn to identify various bird species by their appearance, calls, and behaviors, and you may have the chance to observe them in their natural habitats. Beyond enjoying the beauty of these birds, you will also gain insights into the importance of bird conservation and the environmental challenges they face today.

Qingtiangang, located within Yangmingshan National Park, is a vast, scenic highland grassland where you can see wild water buffalo roaming freely. Set against the backdrop of lush grasslands, these buffaloes create a picturesque and serene natural scene. We will embark on a leisurely hike across the open grasslands and along the way, you’ll learn about the area’s unique ecosystem, geological features, and the daily habits of the buffalo. These buffalo play an important role in maintaining the balance of the grassland’s ecosystem and are an integral part of Yangmingshan’s biodiversity. This tour will offer you a chance to enjoy Taiwan’s stunning natural landscapes and experience the beauty of coexistence between flora and fauna. We believe this hike will provide you with memorable insights and reflections. Pineapple cake is one of Taiwan’s most famous traditional pastries, symbolizing happiness, prosperity, and good fortune. In this DIY workshop, you’ll have the chance to make your own pineapple cakes from scratch. You’ll also get to take home your creations to share with family and friends! After the delicious DIY experience, there will be time for you to do some souvenire shopping at Taiwan's largest duty-free shopping center- Everrich Duty-Free!
